Shari House, FNP blends the wisdom of many medical systems from a wide variety of study and practice experience. She was originally trained in Western Medicine, first at Chicago, Cook County Hospital in their Emergency Room, ICU, and Psychiatric Unit and then at Rush University where she received her Masters Degree. She went on to Boston to study at Boston College. Her most important learning was in Boston's inner city where she participated in community organized "Free Clinics". It was there that Shari learned the meaning of health promotion rather than traditional illness oriented medicine. Since then Shari has studied and practiced with Native Americans on a Indian reservation, American Serviceman, migrant workers, and traveled to China to observe and spend time with their healers. She has taught at the University of Washington and at Oregon Health Sciences University.
Shari's friendly manner and inner presence creates a comforting environment to hear what her patients need. Her personal goal is to help each individual realize their own vision of health and how to achieve it. She brings together the best of Western Medicine and all its resources with the wisdom she has gained from native leaders and ancient teachings. Shari believes that if we blend science with the natural order in each of us, we can amaze ourselves with the discovery.
